SAB brings winter classes to an end with Spring Blowout

Pirates took over Kochoff Hall during the Student Activity Board's annual Spring Blowout last Monday, April 13. Silver rings, black bandannas, eye patches and, of course, sailor hats were provided to go along with the pirate theme of the event. For the past nine years SAB has hosted this end of the year event, which allows students to partake in a day of fun before finals begin.

UM-D campus supports victims of HFCC shooting

Tragedy took place on the Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) campus on Friday, April 10. HFCC student Asia McGowan, 20, was murdered by fellow student Anthony Powell, 28, who after killing McGowan killed himself. In an effort to show support to the victims of the shooting, University of Michigan - Dearborn student Kristen McDonough created a banner for HFCC, which university students, faculty and staff signed.

Fraternities, sororities honored at UM-D's first Greek Awards

Right after celebrating Greek Week with fun and games, all of the fraternities and sororities on campus gathered together on April 8th to announce the Greek Awards. This is the first year the Greek Leadership Council has sponsored the Greek Awards. The award ceremony was put on to honor the achievements of Greek organizations at the university.

Five best events of 2009 winter semester

The winter semester is gradually coming to an end. Although it may have seemed that term papers, homework, tests and lectures dominated the lives of students, the various events that took place on campus provided relief from the cold during January, February and March.
